It is the responsibility of the outsourcing service provider to provide and manage an organisation's critical and non-critical processes and applications.
This may involve the use of off-shore resources and facilities. BPO includes call centres, human resources, accounting and payroll outsourcing.
Qualifications Required
Since the BPO industry is largely customer service based, excellent written and oral English skills are a must, irrespective of the level at which you enter this area.
A minimum academic qualification of 10+2 is a must. Depending on the kind of BPO you work for additional qualifications in sales, marketing, finance and law could be an added advantage.
To be a team leader, good leadership skills are required.

The state governments of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh have introduced career oriented courses and training modules (BPO Skills Assessment Tests (BSAT)) to assess communication skills, accent, clarity and grammar besides personality and aptitude.

Salaries range from Rs.6,000 - Rs.10,000 depending on the process and the organisation. Depending on qualifications, designation, experience and performance, a BPO employee can ear as much as Rs.20,000 on a part-time basis. This is more true of those candidates who work in call canters as sales executives.
