Think you have a pretty face and a great body too?
Well, a career in ramp modelling could be just for you!
With the rise of the Indian supermodel - from Madhu Sapre and Mehr Jessia to Ujwala Raut - modelling is attracting the young, and old alike. However, contrary to popular belief modelling is not quite the cakewalk is appears to be!

There is to more to being a model than just having a pretty face and a great body. As a model you have to work long hours, spend sleepless days and nights on rehearsals and get used to erratic work schedules. Not to mention the tremendous work pressure too!
What It Takes
Unlike other professions, modelling is a career that does not require formal education. Instead you need the confidence and poise to take to the ramp or face a camera, effective communication skills, visual appeal and certainly a sense of style.
You also need to be prepared to put in long hours at auditions. Countless auditions don't guarantee work. So be prepared for rejection and criticism and days or even months when you have no work. Not everyone has it in them to be on the A-list, most remain on the fringe as a 'has been'.
Depending on the kind of modelling you do, the ability to emote and express is required. And yes, it does help to have a pretty face and a great body, but it is not a must. After all, not everyone can be a Miss India.
Healthy skin and hair, personal hygiene and overall health and fitness will go a long way in helping you make a career as a model.
