Creativity and innovative ideas, an eye for detail, artistry for intricate crafts and a little investment should suffice to get you started.
You could enrol students to teach cooking, arts and crafts. Many hobby classes offer certificate courses. You could also directly market the goods produced.
Getting Started
You would need at least Rs. 5,000 for the basic raw materials such as chocolate slabs for chocolate making, wax for candle making, aroma oils, craft items etc. You could market your classes or the products through advertising, websites, pamphlets and word of mouth publicity.
You would need to allocate time schedules for conducting hobby classes for a particular art in batches as per the requirements of the students. Remember to maintain a record of your work by clicking pictures of items made. This will help in promoting and advertising your classes.
Services on Offer
You could offer specialised services in your area of expertise such as cooking and canvas painting or in making general artefacts. Hobby classes could include all or any of the services listed below. This list is only indicative and not exhaustive.
Beauty: Aromatherapy, nail art, jewellery making and make-up and hair styling.
Artefacts: Candle and flower making, stain glass paintings, tie-n-dye and gift wrapping.
Remuneration You could earn upto Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000 a month. The range varies from Rs. 350 per student for chocolate making to Rs. 3,500 per student for aromatherapy.
However, what you earn depends on the number of students, your reputation and the popularity of the hobby classes you offer. Moreover, you could also earn from marketing your items.
