Now that you want to start your business, there is a minimum investment that you have to make. You will have to invest in raw material like threads and material and needles.
Your investment will depend completely on how many orders you want to take.
However it would be a good idea to begin with an investment of Rs.5000. This way you will be able to buy a variety of needles, threads and materials.
There Is No Limit
… To what you can embroider, that is.
You can make doilies, pillow cases, baby dresses, cushion covers, table cloths, blouses, purses, sofa covers and even bed-spreads.
You need to pick embroidering something that you are comfortable doing and master that. For example, if you are managing a home and your embroidery business then it will be a good idea to start with small items like baby clothes or doilies because this way you are ensured of finishing them.
Don't be worried about time. You could make time for yourself in afternoon while the children are in school.
How Much You Can Earn?
What you can earn depends on what you are planning to sell and how much of embroidery work goes into each piece.
For example, if you are planning on making just doilies with light embroidery then the selling price of that item will obviously be lower than an embroidered bedspread.
You need to find out what the selling market price is of that particular piece at that time and price your items accordingly.
Put Your Work Out
Now that you have you work ready, you need to get your work out to the public. There are several ways you can this:
- Advertise
This works well because you are assured of people knowing what you have to offer. Give details on what you embroider and how good you are at your work.
Remember, your advertisement must stand out.
