Cost Factor
Photography is expensive - whether as a hobby or profession. A basic film or digital camera can cost as much as Rs. 5,000 - Rs. 10,000 depending on its features.
Add to that the cost of developing the film / processing the memory card, batteries, filters, lenses and other equipment.
Professional photographers use cameras and equipment that are worth as much as Rs. 1,00,000 to Rs. 5,00,000.
If you are working as a freelance photographer, additional costs incurred are studio rentals.
Money Matters
As a photographer you can earn as much as Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 10,000 per month as a beginner. Freelance photographers get paid per photo / assignment so rates may vary depending on the nature of the photo shoot, experience and the client.
A senior photographer, can earn as much as Rs. 5,000 for each stock image or Rs. 25,000 and up for theme shoots - from fashion shoots and portfolios to nature and wildlife photography.
Ultimately, the sky is the limit! Photography allows you to create lasting images of subjects that are close to you. Happy clicking!
