Decor trends are changing almost as fast as fashion trends these days and to keep up with the changing styles, accessories like rugs and carpets have to keep evolving too.
Carpets and rugs have become popular in average Indian homes only over the past couple of years. Earlier, dhurries or cheap polypropylene carpets were preferred because they were not as warm as carpets and they were easy to maintain as well.
Today, however, there is a strong European influence on Indian home decor trends and carpets and rugs are considered chic home accessories.
Shaggy carpets made of wool, leather, polyester, suede and even viscose are extremely popular these days with the retro living style making waves. They are available in a wide variety of colours but the trendiest to go with are beige, cream and off-white. You could also try certain variations of blue like sky blue and teal.
