Baithaks

A baithak is a very traditional seating arrangement in Indian homes. It is basically a mattress, usually a single one placed along the length of a wall. Since it does not have a backrest, plenty of cushions are used to make it comfortable.

Try a mattress with removable covers so you can keep changing the look of the baithak. Choose cotton upholstery in colours like orange, fuchsia pink and deep red. But if those colours are a tad too loud, try more neutral colours like beige or ivory. Complement it with bright coloured cushions with sequins and mirror work.
