Condoms are of many varieties. You can opt between textured, regular or flavoured condoms.
No matter which one you go for, all condoms are made of latex rubber, which suits most skin types. But if your skin is too sensitive, then it could cause an infection or an allergy.
The friction between the latex and the skin could cause irritation, soreness and rashes. At times, you may experience a burning sensation while urinating.
In some cases, the lubricants used in the condom may not suit your skin and lead to an infection or an allergy.
You could also be allergic to a specific brand of condoms.
In case you experience a vaginal infection or any kind of irritation after you have sex, visit a doctor right away.
If this is the case, then try using the condom along with a lubricant like KY Jelly.
How to Treat the Infection?
An anti-allergy treatment is advised for any kind of irritation, burning sensation or soreness around the vaginal area.
Your doctor is likely to prescribe anti-allergy medication in the form of antibiotics and ointments. You may also be given painkillers.
Other Options
If it is an allergy, then you can try medicated condoms, which are available easily in the market.
Another option is the female condom. These are usually made of plastic, not latex. However, female condoms are not widely available in the market.
But before you switch your method of birth control, you could also try different brands.
If that doesn't work, then some other methods of birth control that you could try are Copper-T and Oral Contraceptive Pills.
Based on your and your partner's comfort, you can decide on a suitable method of birth control.
