If you want to colour your hair, Asieel says, "The normal highlighting technique does not work with short curls. Braiding and colouring the braid are quite hot right now. You could also twist and colour your hair."

Mellow the Medium

The longer your curls, the better. Medium-length curls are tricky, since the sheer volume of your curls could make you look messy.

There are many options for mid-length curls. But remember, they need more maintenance.

The best styles: Sylvia says uniform or square layers below the shoulder work best for medium-length curls. "This technique helps retain length, but effectively removes excess weight and volume, avoiding the messy look.".

Quick solution for medium curls: "Tie a simple high ponytail or wear it with a thick cloth hair band and you are ready to go," says Asieel.
