While drenching yourself maybe an attractive option, it does no good for your hair. There are a few things you can do to protect your hair and keep it healthy through the rains.
Coleen Khan, hairstylist and proprietor Chikaba Salon says, "The rain showers bring with it a lot of pollutants. If this touches your hair then it damages your hair shaft and weakens your hair in the process."
Hair Acting Funny?
The monsoons bring with it a combination of hair problems like frizzy and limp hair. This is because the drop in temperatures lead to high humidity and that in turn leads to ill behaved hair.
However don't worry because we tell you just what to do to keep your hair well behaved and looking good.
Here are some Monsoon Know-Hows:
- If you do wet your hair in the rain then make sure that you wash your hair as soon as possible with a mild shampoo and condition after that.
- Dry massage your scalp so that it improves blood circulation.
- Wash your hair every alternate day. If you have short hair then you can wash it daily.
- Apply your conditioner on the hair shaft as this will strengthen your hair.
- Do not use hair spray or gel in the monsoons as these stick to the scalp and cause dandruff.
- If you are using a windcheater, make sure you use a tight shower cap or swimming cap under your hood so that your hair is thoroughly protected.
- Make sure that you go for a hot oil massage at least once a week to keep it strong and healthy.
- If you have long hair make sure you tie it up so that it stays protected from the rain.
- Make sure that you do not use a blow dryer as this will further dry your hair and cause it to look extra frizzy.
So take good care of your tresses this monsoon and keep them healthy and shining all through.
