The Olympic games were revived in 1896 in the Panathenian stadium in Greece. Courbutin's philosophy of camaderie was frozen immortally on the Olympic flag.
The five interlaced rings placed on the white background represent the five continents (the America's are treated as one continent).
This year there is an exhibition on Chinese artefacts in the museum. This artefact symbolises winning and power.
