To be more efficient when it comes to light the Mumbai Greenpeace team advises to switch to CFL tubes and bulbs, which are 4 times more energy efficient and last 8 times longer than ordinary bulbs.

A single CFL will reduce electricity consumption by 550 kilowatt-hours over bulb's lifetime and reduces 400 kg of co2 emission. You can get CFL tubes and bulbs in any local electrical shop.

In case you are worried that CFL tubes are more costly just remember that they consume less electricity. So if you do the math right you would realise in the long run you would be paying a lot less.
