Don't let your dreams for a honeymoon abroad fade away. You can have an amazing honeymoon on an exotic location abroad on a budget!
Myths Busted
There are many myths attached to going on holidays.
- Most people have a misconception that a foreign trip will cost much more than an Indian vacation.
But that's not always true. The total cost of a foreign holiday, including stay and travel, will be lesser than visiting an exotic Indian location.
If you want to go to stay at a decent resort in tourist locations like Kerala during peak season, it will cost much more than a trip to London during off/low season.
- Cities like London and New York do not fit a budget. Says who, there are many options for budget accommodation in these cities.
Public transport is safe and affordable; all you have to do is cut down on dining expenses. For example, in Scotland, you can get a day pass and use the public transport to travel as many times as you like for a single route's fare!
- If you go in off-season, the destination will have nothing to offer!
Many hot destinations have interesting things to offer in every season. Going for a honeymoon in off-season doesn't make the location less beautiful, especially not if you like visiting museums, galleries and not just go outdoors. Sometimes, going outdoors might be an issue if the weather is too cold!
For example, although Switzerland looks beautiful in winter with snow all around, you must checkout the lush gardens in spring.
Advance Booking
If your honeymoon is in four months, don't wait for the last month to book ticket. You can't imagine how much you can save if you book international tickets at least three months in advance. Many airlines offer up to 70% discounts on tickets booked months in advance.
Don't hesitate to fly by an Indian airline; with so much competition all of them have improved their service. So leave the old myth that only international airlines have comfortable flights is just not true.
If you are on a budget, it is cheaper to change flights rather than taking a direct non-stop flight. This will give you a chance to take a break between flights, as a direct flight can be tiring.
