Dining Dilemma
If you are going to have a party of more than five to six people, you are probably not going to be able to fit them around your small dining table. So here's what you can do.
Move the dining table up against a wall and lay out all the dishes you've prepared like a buffet. Pile up the plates with napkins in between each and a simple mug could hold the cutlery. Disposable plates, glasses, forks and spoons would relieve you of the burden of cleaning up after the guests.
Let your guests come up and serve themselves. They could enjoy their meal on the sofa or the dining chairs.
Getting Through the Night
If you have a neighbour who is out of town and has left the key with you, you could put your guests up in his house. But that is only if your neighbour doesn't mind.

But if your are going to put them up in your own house, a sofa cum bed can really prove to be a blessing. If you don't have one, a couple of thick quilts or thin mattresses will make great sleeping arrangements. You could also hire mattresses.
Give your guests some privacy by opening up a foldable partition. And don't forget a night lamp too.
