Chances are either you or your hubby has an infertility problem.
So before you check for any alternatives or try new positions, find out if there is a medical problem that's stopping you from getting pregnant.
Infertility in Women
- Growing Older
Your chances of getting pregnant drop after the age of 30 years. As you grow older, you grow closer to menopause and the production of eggs gradually decreases.
- Uterus Trouble
You could also have trouble conceiving, if you have benign growths like fibroids or polyps or a scar tissue inside the uterus. A narrow or nearly closed opening of the uterus into the vagina is another reason for conception problems.
- Immune System Problems
Due to immune system imbalances, some women develop an allergy to their partner's sperm, as a result of which, the sperms get killed.
- Major Illnesses
Any major illness like diabetes and cancer, especially cancer of the ovaries and cervix could affect your chances of getting pregnant. The chemotherapy and other medications reduce the production of quality eggs.
- Endometriosis
If you suffered from endometriosis - i.e. a condition wherein, the tissues lining your uterus are displaced to other areas of your body - then your chances of pregnancy get largely reduced.
- STIs
Any sexually transmitted infections like Chlamydia, gonorrhoea, etc. can cause infections of the uterus, which in turn can lead to complications and non-conceiving.
- Lifestyle Factors
Smoking, heavy drinking, drugs and weight issues also reduce your chances. All of this creates hormonal imbalances that affect conception.
Thyroid and pituitary gland problems interfere with the journey of the sperms to the eggs.
Stress and frequent travelling can result in delayed ovulation.
