Also, if an MTP is not done in a proper way by a qualified doctor, it can add to your woes.
MTP and Conceiving
You need to take utmost care before you go for medically terminating a pregnancy (MTP). Do it at an early stage of your pregnancy because it will bring down the complication levels.
You can terminate a pregnancy using pills prescribed by your doctor or surgically. Which ever method you opt for, remember that repeated terminations can lead to complications if you want to conceive later.
If the MTP is not done by a qualified doctor, it could result in:
- Vaginal infections
- Infection of cervical organs
- Uterine rupture
Repeated termination can also lead to blockage of the uterine cavity where both the walls of your uterus may get stuck together. The inner lining of your uterus could also be ruptured, which will cause problems conceiving.
Any infection in the endometrial lining or the lining of the uterus can interfere with your menstrual cycle. It can lead to scanty bleeding or irregular cycles thereby leading to infertility.
Apart from that, repeated MTPs can also block your fallopian tubes causing infertility. When the fallopian tubes are blocked, the eggs don't get fertilised and so, it is impossible to conceive.
... In the Next Pregnancy
Repeated MTPs harm the mouth of your uterus. Consequently, the mouth of the uterus will weaken and become loose. Repeated surgery can also tear the fibres and increase chances of abortion and premature deliveries in your subsequent pregnancies.
Remember, if you and your husband are carriers of a particular complication and your baby had to be terminated because of it, chances are, the same complication may continue in every pregnancy.
So it is very important that you go to a qualified doctor, and ensure that the procedure is done properly with proper hygiene. Be very strict about cleanliness and have your medicines on time.
