It looked as though the models were wearing Madhubani paintings of Orissa in designer Asmita Marwa's Autumn-winter collection on April 1, Day 4 at the Lakme Fashion Week 2008.

Inspired from the art of Orissa, the collection used bold print patterns made of the typical figures we see appearing Madhubani paintings.
After Abhishek Dutta's experiment with artist Raja Ravivarma-style paintings printed on fabric, this was the second time traditional painting prints were worn on the ramp. Do we see a trend coming up?
The colour platte included the usual winter colours - red and brown. The silhouettes were a blend of western cuts and Indian saris.
