Family court advocate Mrunalini Deshmukh says, "Virtual cheating or cheating on the internet can be called emotional infidelity."

This happens when your husband spends a lot of time chatting with another woman or women on the internet. These chats are usually of the sexual and explicit kind and this qualifies as emotional cheating.

The law in India recognises a physical relationship outside of the marriage as adultery. However remember that virtual cheating is still cheating. Here are a few examples of what qualifies as virtual cheating:

Emotional Intimacy with Another Woman

This is when your spouse spends time getting emotionally intimate with another woman. They may send each other romantic messages, spend a lot of time with each other chatting and baring their heart out to one other.

He may share all his intimate secrets with the other woman rather than you.

Lies and Deception

This happens when you question him about the amount of time he spends on the internet. He may turn around and lie saying that he has work to finish. This is when he feels the need to lie to you about him chatting with another woman.

Secrets are now his Behaviour

If he minimises the page he is on and maximises another page when you suddenly walk into the room, it is another sign of secrecy and possibly emotional cheating. This happens when he does not want you to see who he is chatting with and what the chat is about.
