Divya says: The reason our marriage has stayed strong is because we discuss anything and everything about each other openly. We’ve known each other for 10 years and have dated for five years before getting married.

Making a marriage and especially a celebrity marriage work is difficult, but not impossible. We just do not allow rumours to fly about us. We attend almost all social gatherings together. This way people cannot and will not talk.

Besides, we never meet during the day because of our work commitments so the social dos are a terrific time for us to talk to each other and our friends.

I also believe that friendship plays an important role because that way we are honest to each other about everything.

We cannot possibly keep tabs on each other all the time, but if I ever need to talk to him or clear things with him, I have him on speed dial.

From friendship comes knowing and from knowing comes trust. So it is a combination of friendship, trust, understanding, commitment and of course love that helps a marriage tide through.

The extra pressure comes in when a problem (no matter how small) is magnified in public eye. Everybody is aware about the rough time in our lives and questions are asked. The worst is when there are assumptions made about our marriage. But we have to make peace with the situation and tide through tough times whenever they arise.
