Not true! In fact some women prefer bathing (including washing their hair) more often during their period.
Your hair washing has nothing to do with your flow.
7. If you have sex during your period, the flow will increase.
Sex during your periods does not increase the flow at all. You may feel a gush of your menses just after sex, but it does not increase the overall flow.
8. You cannot get pregnant during your period.
Truth is that you can get pregnant during your period. This is because it depends on when your body releases the egg. This could be at anytime during your period.
Make sure that you use protection if you have sex during your periods.
9. You should get as much bed rest as possible during your period.
Your period is a part of your life and does not hamper it in anyway. You can live your life as normally as you do on other days.
Women do get stomach, back and leg cramps but it is not usually so serious that you need bed rest.
10. You should never go swimming during your periods.
You can go swimming, just make sure that you use a tampon. The water eases your cramps and your flow.
Also make sure that you bathe well after your swim.
