Relax
Simple relaxation tools, such as deep breathing and relaxing imagery, can help calm angry feelings.
Think Rationally
Change the way you think. When you are angry, your thoughts tend to become overly dramatic. So try and stay rational.
For instance, instead of telling yourself, "Oh, it's awful, everything is ruined,"… Tell yourself, "It's frustrating, but it's not the end of the world and getting angry is not going to solve it."
Communicate
Angry people tend to jump to conclusions and mostly inaccurate ones! The first thing to do if you are in a heated discussion is to slow down and think your responses through.
Listen carefully to what the other person is saying and take your time before answering.
Humour
If you have a good sense of humour, then use it to your advantage. Silly humour can help defuse rage and relieve a tense situation.
Change Your Environment
Sometimes, even the immediate surroundings could trigger irritation and fury. So take a break.
If you are upset, go out for a walk. Make sure you have some personal time, especially on stressful days.
Remember you cannot eliminate anger. However controlling your angry responses can keep them from making you unhappy in the long run.
