Basics to Remember
1. Before you gear up for all the kicking and punching, know where you stand physically. Now you wouldn't want to try landing a flying kick and land instead with a muscle pull, would you? So before you begin the workout, get a complete medical check-up done. This is especially important if you happen to have any heart discomfort or any grave ailment.
2. Apart from that do not rush with your routine. Start small. Take it easy at first and then build up your routine as your body adapts to the strenuous workout.
3. Remember, since you are embarking on a physical activity, it needs to be properly supplemented with light nutritious food. As far as possible avoid heavy, oily food, especially before attending a session. Also, drink plenty of fluid before and after your kickboxing session. This will keep you hydrated.
4. And lastly, wear comfort clothes and shoes. The clothes should be loose enough to let your arms and legs to move freely. As for shoes, opt for cross-trainer shoes over a tennis or canvas shoe. This is because, a cross-trainer shoe gives cushioning to your feet for side-to-side movement.
