Treat Those Ailments
Acupressure stimulates the central nervous system. It involves pressing specific points on the body with the fingers, knuckles, palms, elbows and feet to relieve pain and reduce stress.
This may be a 15 minutes to 1 hour session where the therapist targets specific points on the body that relate to your condition. There are a number of yogic exercises that relieve pain and stress. Consult a doctor first before undergoing any treatment / therapy.
In extreme cases, your doctor may ask you too give up wearing high heels.
Heels You Can Use
Experts say that 1.5 to 2.5 inch heels are safe and do not cause any health problems. Occasional use of 5 inch heels is allowed but they are not meant for walking. And definitely not on Mumbai roads!
Safe Heels
If you can't do without your heels, here's a quick look at the ones you can wear to better health.
The Wedge heel is an extension of the sole and is like a platform heel. So, even though it is high, it seems like walking on 'high flats'. It offers more comfort and support and has casual chic written all over it. There is no pressure on any of the major muscles and is a safe bet as compared to stilettos.
The Chunky heel is a high heel with a thick sole at the top of the shoe (toe area) that comes down to the middle of the foot. So, despite the heel being high there is support for the foot and the pressure is much less.
Follow these simple guidelines, wear that sexy pair of stilettos once in a while and you'll do just fine.
