However, there are certain things you need to be wary of...
Lipstick
Love that shade of lipstick your sister bought for herself? As much as you may be tempted to borrow it, make sure you get your own lipstick.
Foundation
Your friend's foundation and creams may compliment her skin but don't expect the same magic on your skin as well.
According to Dr. Patel, an important thing to keep in mind is that different creams suit different skin types. If you have an oily skin and apply a foundation which has a lot of oil content, your skin will automatically break out. Make sure you use a cosmetic that suits your skin type.
For example, if you have an oily skin, stick to water-based products. And even then, wash your face as soon as it is done. If you have dry skin, apply a moisturiser before you apply makeup.

If your friend has acne, you might be apprehensive about using her brushes or compact powder. Dr. Patel says, "Sharing makeup will not spread acne in any manner as it is a hormonal thing."
However, in case the person you are sharing the makeup with has a fungal infection, you could get it as well. Even if she has some kind of unexplained rash it is advisable to keep away from the makeup.
The Eyes
You have come to a dress up at your friend's place and you just remembered that you have forgotten your mascara and kajal stick?
Dr. Patel says, "If the person you are sharing it with has no eye problem whatsoever you can borrow her eye makeup like mascara or kajal."
However, if your friend has any kind of secretion in the eye, make sure you keep away from her eye makeup. You can get an eye infection.
