Wedding cakes is a western tradition and is soon becoming a must have for all weddings. Here's how you can get your own wedding cake…

The wedding cake has become more of a trend than a tradition. This custom has come a long way, from the Roman Empire. Traditionally, breaking bread after the wedding symbolised breaking the bride's virginity and the dominance of her husband over her.
Earlier cakes were simple and single-layered, but now you can find fancy multi-layered ones and a huge variety of designs to choose from.
Tell Me Your Flavour
There are a variety of flavours available in the market, so pick your favourite one.
If you are having a winter wedding your must try the strawberry cake with fresh strawberries all around the cake and thin layers of it in every bite. Among fruits, pineapple is the next favourite.
But before booking a fresh fruit cake make sure you make arrangements for refrigerating at the venue. Cakes with fresh fruits, especially citrus based fruits, tend to get spoiled if stored in room temperature, and should be eaten immediately after they are cut.
If you are thinking wedding cakes can only be white, you're wrong. The colour white symbolises purity and traditionally wedding cakes were suppose to be the bride's cake, so get the connection?
But if you want a chocolate cake and yet want it to be white, ask the chef to cover the cake with cream and icing, and you'll have a white chocolate cake!
