You As a Host
When you are playing host you have the responsibility to keep all your guests happy. Bridal
consultant Chhaya Momaya tells you how to be a good host.
Be at the Door
From the moment your first guest arrives make sure you are at or around the door at least for another hour and a half till all the important guests have arrived.
Food Specific
While serving dinner instruct your caterer that the non-veg food should not mix with the veg. There might be some vegetarian guests who might get offended. Also, keep the cutlery separate for both.
While asking them to eat don't force anything on them. They might not feel like eating or drinking when they arrive but they will surely try it later.
You should be the last one to take a plate.
Greet Them Well
It is very important to greet all guests gracefully and treat them equally. Spend not more than five minutes with each guest as this will give you a chance to personally have a word with everyone.
If you have a VIP in the party, give him importance but then return to the other guests as they may feel less important.
You Can Dance
Even if you are a new bride, it is ok to dance at your own party. But wait till someone asks you to dance.
Don't dance for a long time as you will start perspiring and look untidy. Also don't be hesitant to dance with anyone else beside your husband. Give everyone equal attention.
