Wasted Effort?
Opting for a pre-bridal beauty package seems like a great idea. However, make sure you know all about it. The use of wrong products can affect your skin in several ways.
The most common reactions to such packages are rashes caused due to the use of wrong bleach and excessive oiliness.
This can lead to the breakout of acne. If this happens, consult a dermatologist before it gets worse.
To avoid such skin reactions, make sure you test the products first. Sometimes these reactions don't show immediately after treatment, but after the wedding.
So keep a track of your skin post marriage as well.
Stick to Routine
The best way to take care of your skin is to follow your regular skin care routine. According to skin and hair specialistAleena Jetha of Shahnaz Herbal Clinic, Mumbai, women must follow their skin care routine even after marriage.
"Those with sensitive skin should go for a regular clean-up to keep skin acne free. Use a moisturiser - even at night - that suits your skin. The skin tends to become drier at night and needs extra attention," she says.
Aleena suggests the use of sunscreen even at home as UV rays can harm your skin even when you are at home. Application of sunscreen should be a part of your routine.
For all the post marriage parties she advises, "Make sure you take off your make-up well and remember to use a proper cleanser and a good base for the make-up."
Wonder Pill!
Oral contraceptive pill (OCPs) can sometimes do more than just avoid pregnancy. They mostly have a positive effect on skin as they reduce the chances of skin acne.
OCPs are known to lighten the skin colour and reduce growth of facial hair. This means you spend less time taking care of your skin!
However, consult your gynaecologist before taking OCPs to find out which one suits you best. No wonder then OCPs are often referred to as the wonder pill!
For healthy skin, clean it regularly, keep it moisturised and eat healthy food. After all, we are what we eat.
