Well people may think that milk gives you the strength to survive the night, but traditionally milk was used  to induce sleep.

According to some traditions there is only one glass of milk. The groom drinks half and leaves the rest for his bride. In case you are wondering why, this makes "love grow".

Sex a Must

Have you noticed how the women of the family who bring the bride to the room keep giggling and smiling?

Well one of the reasons is that the couple is expected to have sex on the first night. It is like a ritual that has to be done. Well, traditionally the first night is the night when the girl loses her virginity.

This leads to another expectation of the husband, as he wants his wife to orgasm.

Morning After

This is one of the weirdest and the most embarrassing customs among many religions. White sheets are laid on the bed before the first night. Any guesses why?

The in-laws check the bed sheet the following morning for stains, to find out whether the girl was a virgin or not!
