Why wait for the season to change before you and the kids enjoy a swim?
Just a little work on the poolside and you will be ready to dive in!
Pamper Your Feet
Invest in good quality wooden tiles for outdoor. They start at about Rs.395 per sq. ft. The tiles are sun resistant so you don't have to worry about walking around barefoot in the hot sun.
Also, the tiles are backed with a Source: Square Foot polypropylene grid, which helps
the water drain out of the wood.
And for that weathered look, the colour of the wood fades with time.
But if wooden deck flooring is beyond your budget, then try rubber flooring. You can get single coloured tiles as well as two toned and multicoloured ones. Rubber tiles cost anywhere from Rs.190 to Rs.300 per sq. ft.
If you decide to get any other kind of flooring just be sure it is anti-slip.
Lounge Around
Put on your sunglasses and swimsuit and laze around the pool on comfy futons. These are ideal poolside furniture as you can adjust them to any position you like.

Avoid placing mattresses on the futons because moisture from wet towels will ruin them. If you must have them, wrap them in plastic with thin removable cotton covers zipped on.
You could also have Rexene recliners with bold stripes on them. They are sure to brighten up the place.
Too hot to take a dip? Bring in an awning. Not those green asbestos sheets. They just attract more heat. Opt for a thick cloth sheet. Tie up the four corners to poles around the pool.
Set Afloat
Not everyone knows how to swim you know. Throw in some inflatable rafts and chairs. These are available in bright colours, funky prints and shapes too.
You could have arm floats and ring-shaped floats for the kids.
Save the hard tyre floats for the decor. Have these painted in brick red and white stripes. Then use a white chord and string them around the poolside.
Grab a Bite
Include a couple of tables for those who have worked up an appetite after a good swim.
A couple of lightweight cane chairs would be perfect around each table. Paint the chairs in bright colours or even in white. You could even use stackable Source: Square Foot plastic chairs.
Complete it with striped or printed umbrellas to block out the glare.
Rub Suntan
Have a couple of ply tables on castors by the pool for sun tan and sunscreen lotions.
Get towels in bright colours and fun prints like florals, polka dots and stripes. Have them rolled neatly and placed on the lower shelf of the table. Remember to include a couple of robes too for the shy ones!
