But hold on, there are other issues too. Ever thought about your relationship with your colleagues?
Find out what some of them have to say about their personal experiences with their bosses (ahem!) relatives.
My Daddy Professional-est
Kimberly Oates, who works as a Supervisor in a Call Centre, reports to her father, the Director.
She says, "As soon as we leave the house, I don't recognise my father anymore. He just turns into different being altogether, and expects me to don that role too."
"In fact," she continues, "he even expects me to call him 'Sir', whenever we are at office, and does not make any distinction between my colleagues and me. It's quite irritating sometimes because he fails to recognise me."
Trust Quotient
Chiradeep Sinha, working as an accountant in a NGO, reports to his mama (maternal uncle), who is the Director of the organisation.
He says, "Yes, of course there is more trust between us. If there is something important that he needs help with, or if he needs to give some responsibility, I am almost always the first in line."
He continues, "My colleagues sometimes taunt me, calling my boss and me, 'the uncle-bhanja' team."
Embarrassment Galore
Siddharth Gomes, an IT professional, works in the same office as his mother, and was answerable to her in all computer-related issues.
Siddharth groans, "My mother used to holler my name out so that the whole office could hear it. It was so embarrassing. If I wouldn't reply, she would continuously holler. It was such a pain."
"And," he continues, "don't get me started on how my colleagues tease me and call me, 'momma's boy'."
