What is Unsafe
Using any kind of object that is sharp, or made of hard material is unsafe. So stay away from metallic objects, pens etc. Dr. Shah warns against using toys or inserting small balls and beads in the vagina. All this is harmful and can hurt.
What to keep in mind…
"When a person is extremely aroused while masturbating they may not realize that they are hurting themselves in the excitement. So it is important not to rub objects extremely hard on your vagina or clitoris as it may lead to several injuries," says Dr. Shah.
It isn't safe to use objects until and unless you are familiar with your body. It is safer to start by using your fingers.
If you do use any objects like vegetables make sure to throw them in the bin after usage, so that it doesn't get mixed in with the rest of the veggies. Also, all fabrics and objects need to be washed carefully and sterilised before and after use.
Dr. Shah asks you to watch out for any pain. If this does occur then you should stop masturbating for a few days to give your body time to heal. If bleeding occurs it is necessary for you to visit your gynaecologist.
