Don't be surprised if, after a while, your face looks dull and aged.
Fats are essential to keep your skin young and glowing. Here's why…
Fat Is Essential
Remember, your body needs a certain amount of fat. It's just the excess fat that is unhealthy. However, without the required amount of fat, your skin will look stretched and wrinkled.
Loss of fat also makes your skin look sunken and appear dull.
| Here's Why Fat is Essential for Your Health |
Impact of Diet
A strict diet means no oil, ghee or butter. But without any of these you won't get even the essential fats that your skin needs.
The first impact caused by zero fat intake is dry skin, along with other effects like premature wrinkles.
If you have recently started dieting, you may not see the effects immediately. But eventually, they will slowly start appearing.
The Explanation
Your skin contains collagen and elastin. Collagen is the main protein in the connective tissue and makes upto 25 percent of protein in the body.
Elastin is an elastic protein. It helps the skin resume it's shape after being stretched. The essential fat helps the collagen and elastin to work better.
Regain Lost Fat
You don't need to get off your diet to regain the lost fat in your skin. Eat foods that include protein and fibre. Regaining lost fat can reverse the effects caused.
Replace your normal cooking oil with olive oil. Also, add nuts like badam (almonds) in your diet.
Eating right is essential, but make sure you don't over-exert while exercising. Regular exercise along with a healthy diet will bring back that lost glow.
