Give your skin and hair a breather - and a chance to look good naturally with these "organic" ideas, By Sheila Kumar.
Does your beauty routine usually include a cupboard full of make-up (foundation, concealer, pressed powder, lip liner, lipstick, gloss, blush, kohl, eyeliner, mascara) or hair products and tools (shampoo, conditioner, serum, curlers, dryer, straightening iron, hairspray)?
While most of the products we use on a daily basis are all for the good - serving to enhance our assets and downplay our liabilities - sometimes it is a good idea to take a little beauty break.
An option to consider: trading your market-bought beauty products for natural products made from ingredients you are likely to find in your kitchen or garden.
Trying these ideas will not only save you money, but soon you will also notice that your hair and skin have taken on a glow from within, which no synthetic product can match...
Try a Homemade Wash-Cum-Mask
Instead of your daily face wash, try a face pack of besan mixed with curd. Allow the mixture to dry on your face and you have a cleanser that lifts impurities while tightening pores.

Exfoliate Naturally
A natural scrub that works well at exfoliating impurities and dead cells and imparting a glow is a mixture of salt (sea salt is ideal) and a little vegetable oil.
Gently rub the mixture into your skin, rinse with cold water to make your skin soft, smooth, and glowing.
Oatmeal mixed with some curd or a combination of sugar and vegetable oil are two other great ideas you can try for homemade scrubs.
