Trivia number one! Did you know that Tina Turner is half native American and half Black? With legendary hits like We don't need another hero and What's love got to do with it, this (still) sexy diva has a voice that could literally round up the masses.
Wondering how Anna became Tina? We'll tell you how. After her parents deserted her, she was reunited with her mom at the age of 16. The R&B clubs that were cropping up fascinated her. It was in one of these clubs that she met Ike Turner.
After hearing her amazing voice, he made her a permanent act and renamed her Tina.
This 7-time Grammy Award-winner has been practising Buddhism from 1975. Apart from her powerful voice, she is also well known for her shapely legs. No wonder she was ranked 6th on VH1's 100 sexiest artists in 2002. A good record to have, keeping in mind that in 2002, she was 62 years old!
If you are one of those who have never heard a Tina Turner song, first, ask for forgiveness, and then you can start off with one of her best! The song is called, Simply the best. Listen to it, and you will know why she is on our list of Top 10 Divas of all time.
