Past Life Therapy (PLT) or Past Life Regression (PLR) is when an individual under hypnosis or otherwise see themselves going through events and situations that are not directly connected to their present.
It is based on the premise that the individual carries several traumatic experiences from their previous lives into the present one. This is all stored in the sub-conscious and affects a person's present life.
While regressing, people see themselves in different times, eras and even different sexes.
During the first session itself the therapist figures out how many past lives there are. Therapy sessions are numbered accordingly.

There are three stages to PLT:
Dr. Neeta Kapadia, Past-Life Therapist and Clinical Hypnotherapist and Mira Kotak, Hypnotherapist and Kinesiologist talk about regression therapy.- Realistic-Cathartic where traumatic past life instances are re-lived.
- Symbolic-Archetypical where past personalities are seen as aspects of the present self.
- Integral-Mystical where everything is seen as a part of creation.
Subconscious Senses
- Are there any indicators that signal the existence of a past life?
A Deja-vu, recurrent dreams, phobias and unexplained fears are ways that you see or feel some of your past-life experiences.
A Deja-vu is when you feel like you have been to a place or done something that you could not have possibly done in this life. For example, you visit a particular place for the first time and have a strong feeling that you have been there before.
Recurrent Dreams about a particular event, happening or place can signal a past-life experience. Very often people keep dreaming of a particular place, of knowing it and having lived there. But in reality they have never been there.
Phobias are irrational fears that make an individual avoid the action completely. There was a woman who was afraid of confined places. She could not use the elevator or even travel through a tunnel. During the course of her therapy she realised that she was buried alive in a previous life.
Dr. Kapadia
Besides deja-vu and recurrent dreams, people often experience Unexplained Fear. is a crippling fear of an action, a person, an animal or a situation. Eg - One woman was petrified of snakes. She could not bear to see them even on TV. During her therapy she realised that she was thrown in a snake pit in one of her past lives.
Other feelings that indicate past-life experiences are an instant dislike or even hate of someone you have met for the first time, fear of water, heights and animals among other things.
Another indicator is Pattern Behaviour. This is where a regular pattern of negative instances or behaviour is observed. For instance, For example you may have continuous failed relationships or even fail in a particular subject at school or college, in spite of putting in the effort.
