...Know Her Better
If your teen hesitates to tell you about any bad experience, look out for typical behavioural traits.
The first sign will be a withdrawal symptom. She may be depressed for major part of the day, she is likely to cry a lot and be aloof.
If she stays in a hostel you can make out that something is wrong be listening to the tone of her voice. If you find her voice very low, sad and upset, then you should go and find out personally how well she is doing. Never take for granted that things must are okay.
Apart from that, if you find her too distracted, unable to concentrate in studies, and is failing to perform, these are some red flags you need to watch out for.
...Help Her
Assure her that if she is getting ragged then she needs to inform the college authorities and you immediately. She should know that ragging can land those people behind bars. It is an offence and she doesn't have to hide it from you or the college authorities.
Listen to your child. Hear her out. See what she has to say. Do not put her off by saying that she is just a little upset. If you do not listen her out she may be put off and will never tell you what exactly she is feeling.
