Recycled Invites

Start your own green revolution by sending out recycled paper invites to your relatives and friends.

These invites are thicker than normal paper and last long as well. You can get them in several colours and even embellish them with ribbons.

Outdoor Location

To get the feel of an eco-friendly wedding, stay as close to nature as you can. If the weather allows, organise an outdoor wedding, such as on a lawn or at the beach.

Save Drive Time

If the wedding and reception are planned on the same day, make sure both the locations are not too far away from each other.

After all, you don't want your guests to drive the distance between the wedding and reception and burn fuel, leading to all that unwanted pollution.

No Cut Flowers

Use potted plants instead of cut flower arrangements. Ferns make excellent decorations and add a fresh look to your wedding décor. You can also add a few potted flowering plants to add that extra colour to your decorations.

Zero Use of Plastic

Ban the use of plastics at your wedding. Say NO to plastic plates and cutlery items, even plastic cups for beverages.

Go for Cloth Not Paper

You cannot imagine the amount of paper napkins that are wasted at the end of any wedding. At your eco-friendly wedding, replace paper napkins with cloth napkins that can be washed and reused.

Place a napkin at every table for each individual. But make sure you instruct the caterers to provide extra napkins when asked.

Bio Food

You can use a bio gas plant to cook the food for the guests. Along with buffet for food, arrange a self-service for drinks too. Let the guests make their own drink, to avoid wastage.

If you can, have a vegetarian menu. But, don't disappoint your non-vegetarian guests; you can have an exotic menu including Thai, Chinese or Malaysian, instead of simple Indian food.
