Here's how you can get started to pack for your new life...

Your Luggage
Even if you have too much luggage, you can carry the fancy suitcases you saw at the mall. Divide your luggage in four different sections.
1. Clothes - which will include everything from casuals day wear, clothes that you wear at home to your designer sarees. Also let it include your nightwear and lingerie.
2. Valuables such as your jewellery.
3. Bags, shoes and make-up
4. Miscellaneous - Things like books, soft toys and anything you want.
If you are having a fancy bidaai, then prepare a pretty red, pink (or any other coloured) suitcase with all the things you will need on the wedding night and the day before.
This will include your nightwear, a casual outfit and one formal one for the day before. Also pack accessories, jewellery and toiletries.
Carry this straight to the hotel in your car, so that you won't have to wait for your entire luggage just to get out of your heavy wedding outfit.
Packing for...
The Same City
If your fiancé lives in the same city, it will make moving in very easy. A few weeks before your wedding you can start moving your daily wardrobe to your new home. This way there are fewer chances of you forgetting something back home. Even if you do, simply stop by to pick them up.
A New City
You can do the same here. Send some luggage to your new place, only if there is someone to receive it. Carry a handy suitcase, just like your fancy bidaai luggage with you to survive on till your entire luggage arrives.
Find a courier company's number that will pick the package from home and deliver it to you as soon as possible. This won't make you feel guilty if you forget something. Don't forget to carry an address book with contact details and important dates such as, birthdays and anniversaries of your dear ones.
