IndiWo.com chats up women from all walks of life, to understand what makes them tick. Here's a look into the 'other side' of Mumbai businesswoman and socialite Bhavna Jasra.
MOST of us career girls could take a cue from Bhavna Jasra; she manages to juggle a hundred and one things and still look like a million bucks. One minute she's getting daughter Tia ready for school. The next, she's doling out financial advice to television stars.
Yet, she has perfect nails, a trim figure, well-groomed hair and a bubbly disposition.
Dressed in a pair of tights, a grey shirt-dress, big shades and a Versace tote (a woman's most essential accessory), she looks comfy and arrives on the dot of 11.30, as decided. Our tête-à-tête kicks off.

It began with a conversation
This microbiology graduate switched fields post a casual conversation at a party. It was 1994 and she had just moved to Dubai with her family. "Conversations have always led me from one opportunity to the next," she vouches.
A chat with the marketing manager of Gulf News, a prominent newspaper in Dubai, jumpstarted a new career path. She began selling space in the classifieds, and networked with zest. Consequently, she was picked up by Toyota to be part of the team launching their luxury brand Lexus. "Clients comprised high net worth individuals and they needed someone who was savvy enough to interact with clients on their level, " she says.
The brand equity of her Rolodex shot up and the ride was exciting.
But love struck, and Bhavna moved to Mumbai to be with her husband Gautam, a second-generation businessman. Not one to be complacent, a very pregnant Bhavna conceptualised her maiden business venture 'First Impression' and launched it 11 days after Tia was born. "My stitches (from the caesarean surgery) were still not completely healed," she recalls with amazement.
