Apart from a well-stocked medical kit, you will also need;
- Emergency Numbers
Make a list of emergency contacts like the number of the family doctor, your kid's paediatrician, the nearest hospital or nursing home and close family/friend.
Write it down with sketch pens in bold lettering and paste it right near the phone, so there is no chance of misplacing it.
- File Medical History
Prepare a medical file, which contains all the prescriptions or drugs and the dosages administered to your child.
If he has suffered from any chronic illness, file that as well. This will be a ready reckoner in an emergency and assure proper treatment.
Also put up another copy on the refrigerator as a handy reference for the babysitter.
- Track Her Immunisation Schedule
Major immunisation shots begin right from the time of birth to 18 months. Keep a track of all her vaccine shots and their due dates. Don't delay with a dose.
The immunisation schedules are available with all child health care providers. Do not forget to get yours and place it in a visible place.
