"There is no point in saying, 'I should have'. It is important to do everything possible to baby proof your home," says Maria Goretti-Warsi.

Cut the Cord!
Before he even starts to crawl, your baby will go for everything within his reach. i.e.: Electrical wires, phone cords, curtain holders, cords of blinds, etc. Kids could get entangled and hurt themselves with such objects.
So use ties to roll up and secure all wires and extension cords when not in use. Try and conceal all wiring, either in the wall or floor. If this isn't possible, hide wires behind furniture or place a heavy item like the leg of a table on it, so your little one won't tug at or trip on them.
If you have blinds, cut the cord and tie it up, so it is out of reach.
There is No Space Too Small...
...for those tiny fingers. "I got the Mothercare safety kit from London... plastic holders on sockets so they don't poke their fingers, door stoppers so they don't jam themselves, stickers to smoothen out sharp edges and so on. Now that Mothercare is in India, it's so much more convenient," says Manasi Joshi Roy.
As Aditi Govitrikar explains, "Besides the general stuff like plug point seals, we made sure that all breakable showpieces were out of reach; no hot irons were left on the floor and so on."
