Wandering minstrels are basically the gypsies that travel around the country. They originated from Bengal and colourful clothes. They do not belong to a particular sect. For this collection, I was thinking in terms of a wanderer, somebody who travels. And I took my inspiration from these people.

I have incorporated different ethnic elements from different states like the leheria from Rajasthan, brocade from Banaras, sun and air print from Jaipur, katha saris from Bengal, the hand-woven fabric is from Banaras and silk malmal from Karnataka.
Also India is, of course, synonymous with colours, which is why I have used a lot of colours.
Though I have used fabrics such as georgette, chiffon and silk the interesting part was the usage of hand-woven fabrics such as jamdani and silk malmal.
