Pinakin's furniture has been auctioned at Christie's as well.
"Days of minimalism are over."
We are moving towards more ornamental furniture inspired by motifs and colour. Decor, today, is all about sensuality, glamour and even seduction.
The cycle of design is turning around. There is an air of celebration with the economic boom in India. It is like the world's attention is on India and countries across the world are sending nothing but their best.

"Furniture is making a statement."
Furniture is making a statement in terms of size and proportions. So if low seating was the 'in' thing, designers are now looking at a more scaled up decor.
You will be seeing more plush sofas in living spaces. Four posters with rich drapes and throws won't be rare in bedrooms either.
There's good news for those with backaches because bed heights have increased to about 18 to 20 inches. Dramatic headboards are the 'in' thing especially in smaller bedrooms, as they make a bold statement without taking up space.
With the emergence of the nuclear family, people prefer just three to four dramatic pieces of furniture rather than many pieces that tend to clutter the room. And remember, comfort is a key factor.
