"Feeling Like a Number One"

At age 18, Zeba Kohli inherited her mother's family business. Today, 22 years later, she has come into her own as wife, mother and successful entrepreneur.

Choice Is Yours
Our primary business is cold storage and warehousing. The 'Fantasie' chocolates brand has existed for 60 years now.
As an 8-year-old I would accompany my grandfather and mother to office. By my early teen years, I was conscious of what chocolates I liked as also the colours for ribbons and boxes. The play of colour and creativity excited me.
I inherited my mother's side of the business and became director of the company when I was just 18. I had no choice really; I simply went with the flow.
Interestingly, my grandfather took me along on his business trips abroad. As the only growing adult in the business, it was expected of me to take the business forward.
Passionate about Physics, I was 15½ when I took a conscious decision to take up Commerce, which would better equip me to run the business.
Even today, I do not believe I compromised. I am applying science in my chocolate business, which is why I have lasted this long.
My awareness about the science behind chocolate making keeps my interest going. I strive to make each day better and never take any regrets to bed.
I am still learning, there is so much more to do. I want to relaunch the Fantasie brand with a touch of 'Zeba' in it.
More Than A Woman
I have always wanted to be perfect - the body of Venus, cunning of Cleopatra, brains of Azim Premji (my uncle) and the wardrobe of Donatella Versace.
But I have mastered the art of imperfection. After all, perfection is relative and we should set our own parameters!
I believe that every Indian woman is a born entrepreneur. As a successful woman I take my role as wife and mother seriously.
I do not compromise on my responsibility towards my husband and kids.
