Is Ritu Kumar ready to retire?

Grey and white with a lot of glitter. Oversized tassled totes and clutches. Pinafore dresses cinched high at the waist with a belt. We saw all of this in designer Ritu Kumar's style statement. And no, we did not not dig the neon psychedelic prints.
The grand lady of Indian fashion presented her son Amrish, to the fashion world, in her LABEL show, the finale to Day 2 of WLIFW.
As she acknowledged the cheers from the surprisingly limited audience at her show, she was seen asking around for Amrish, who was at the time around the press area. The very evidently shy Amrish had to be prodded and pushed before he went and joined his mother to acknolwdge the audience.
Soon after the show, we spoke to Ritu (Amrish seemed to be missing here as well!) about the collection and what it was like being a veteran in the fashion industry.
“I have been in this industry for over 40 years now,” she said, “I think the time has come for someone else to take in onward.”
Does this mean, we might not be able to see during the next fashion week? The fashion industry will shudder to think of a world (of fashion) without a Ritu Kumar! But, the show did show some promise.
