Iram Mirza, New Delhi: While Bollywood stars might still be dreaming about a starry Hollwyood debut, fashion designer Suneet Verma has gone ahead and even bagged one.
The ace fashion designer has been roped in to design costumes for the directorial debut of none other than blonde siren Goldie Hawn’s Ashes to Ashes, which is scheduled to go on the floors by the end of the year.
"What’s interesting is that we will actually do a whole lot of Western clothes for her," Verma says.
A cross-cultural film to be shot in Chicago and India, Ashes to Ashes traces the life of a fashion diva played by Hawn who embarks on a journey to India to bury the ashes of her dead husband in the Himalayas, where they had come on their honeymoon and discovers her true self in the process.
"There's this entire Western look and then the pace changes. Along with the journey the clothes also change," Verma says.
And that’s not it Verma hopes this Hollywood assignment will change the general perception about Indian designers worldwide.
"You know this will change the entire perception. We will no more be considered as costume designers but will be at par with the others designers," Verma said.
