Mumbai: Kanchan Pamnani is blind, but the ease with which she handles the camera, you'd say that she's an accomplished photographer. "I like clicking people — their moods, their faces and their expressions," says Kanchan Pamnani, a solicitor and photographer.
Rahul, quite like Kanchan, has clicked many a photographs, including a perfect mother-son one for Rashmi and little Pathin.
Mahesh and Raju are also adept at clicking pictures and their latest endeavour is trying to get the Mumbai skyline into a steady frame.
"Just by standing where I am, I can tell exactly where you are from your voice," says Mahesh Umrrania, also a photographer.
All thanks to the training they received from a software professional, Partho Bhowmick, these photographers can now click pictures by using their mind's eye.
Bhowmick has taught them to ascertain their surroundings through non-visual senses like sounds and smell.
"Photography is a visual medium, how we can relate it to a person who can't see itself is a big challenge," Bhowmick.
And what followed the training was praise at their very first exhibition. "On this brief occasion, I have a new appreciation for art," says Davis G Sanders, an architect.
