If you went to a tuition class when you were in school, you usually hid this fact from others. Taking tuitions meant acknowledging the fact that you were poor in your studies.
Today, however, all that has dramatically changed, with almost every child going to some coaching or tuition class, even from as early a class as First or a Second standard. Let us take a look at the dynamics behind these tuitions.
Why Tuitions for a Small Child?
It is somewhat understandable if your kids are giving their 10th (SSC) or 12th standard (HSC) attend tuitions to get a high score. But, one sometimes wonders why five and six year olds, with a normal IQ and intelligence, should be spending three or four hours every day attending tuitions?
On discussing this issue with many parents, what emerged was the fact that nowadays, since most mothers are working, the earlier job of sitting with the child to get his homework done, and helping him with his day to day studies, has been delegated to the tuition teacher.
Going to tuitions is no longer dependent on whether your child is intelligent or not; it is more a function of whether you have the requisite time to spend with you child to complete his homework.
Once she is enrolled in a tuition class, the tuition teacher takes care of all the homework that needs to be done, and also coaches her in the subjects that have been taught in school. This, in turn, the tuition teacher relieves you of this responsibility.
