Vienna: Vienna is playing host to the world's first ever divorce fair. Called "The New Beginning", the fair aims at helping couples part on good terms.

Most of the 16 firms with stalls at the fair offer facilities like meeting lawyers, counsellors and even private detectives.

The emphasis is less on the emotional and more on the financial and legal aspects of divorce. Interestingly, there are also stalls for paternity tests, dating services, even a hair-stylist.

The fair, however, did not garner a good response with very few visitors turning up, despite the fact that Vienna has a 66 per cent divorce rate.

Be Aware of the Legal Hassles During Divorce

Some of the visitors have, in fact, complained that a traumatic experience is being trivialised. "I did not get much out of this exhibition," said a visitor.

"It is a very superficial way of dealing with the subject. As a person concerned, I can say that this is a very painful thing. This exhibition was like a kind of joke."
