Mumbai: Cheeni Kum is a much awaited summer release with the Big B and Tabu's chemistry already spreading a few smiles.
But you could shrug your shoulders and say that 'this is just another older man-meets-younger woman love story.'
However, Tabu would rather have you believe that Cheeni Kum is a film that tells you a story like it is.
"The film is very believable and real. It doesn't try to explain and show that this is a love story about an old man and young girl. It's very honest," Tabu says.
Cheeni Kum will be the Big B's second attempt at such a love story, after his first try Nishabd which bombed at the box office.
But that doesn't seem to worry the adman-turned-director of the film R Balakrishnan.
"No, I am not afraid of any such spillover problem as my film is a comedy," Balakrishnan says.
The promo of the film says that this is a man-meets-woman story with a touch of humour but the director says he's taken the saccharine out from the love story.
"I have made a very pure Hindi film without the sugar in it. Also the film has a mature love story between two sarcastic characters," Balakrishnan says.
Armed with the Big B's signature comic timing and the performances of Tabu as well as Paresh Rawal, Cheeni Kum does look interesting.
The question is, will the public accept this one?
